About the Cruise
This is what you can look forward to during the months of June and July. Whether you choose a 3 Night , 4 Night or 7 night package during this period, its all about seeing the Minke Whales. There is limited availability on most of the departures.
Spoilsport is Australia’s most awarded liveaboard dive boat. Custom built to provide superb dive and guest facilities, Spoilsport has a twin hull design which maximises stability and passenger comfort in all conditions. Measuring 30m in length, Spoilsport has a dedicated crew of 11 people including the dive team, host/ess, skipper and chef. We have everything you need for a comfortable, enjoyable liveaboard dive expedition. Guest cabins are a combination of double, twin and quad share. All are air-conditioned and are serviced daily. Relax in the spacious lounge / bar inside, or head up to the sun deck and enjoy the view over the Coral Sea. Our award-winning food and service caters to all dietary requirements. Your chef prepares all meals fresh and vegetarians are well-catered for with their own dedicated menu. There is a reason Spoilsport is Australia’s most awarded diving liveaboard!
Spoilsport’s is a photographers dream vessel, the dive deck is equipped to meet all of your digital needs. To ignite your creative juices, photo competition run onboard for each and every trip. 3 large camera stations with air guns, A 3 tier camera shelf with recharging facilities, 110v (2 prong straight pin) and 240v (Australian) socket, Dedicated camera freshwater rinse tubs, Cabins 110v (2 prong straight pin) socket. 240v (Australian) socket in cabins, Saloon: public computer (Windows), 1x video/DVD player and 2x large wall-mounted flat screens for viewing photographs and video.

Fly Dive Dwarfe Minke Whale Dive Expeditions

Arrive in Cairns the night before departure
Mondays : Embark Cairns: 7.00am, meet at the Mike Ball Office for transfer to Hinterland Terminal for one way flight to Lizard Island, Board MV Spoilsport
You will enjoy a one way low level flight along the Ribbon Reefs to Lizard Island. Meet and Greet at the Airport and transfer boat to board MV Spoilsport. You will start diving today
Dive and Cruise along the Ribbon Reefs, snorkelling with the Dwarf Minke Whales and diving the best of the Ribbon Reefs
Thursdays: Disembark Cairns: 8.00am Trinity Wharf Cairns

Arrive Cairns on day of departure
Thursdays: Check in at the Mike Ball Office, between8.30am and 4pm on Thursday with your luggage. Meet again at 6.00pm out the front of the Cairns Corporate Tower, 15 Lake St, to board. Overnight cruise on MV Spoilsport to the Ribbon Reefs. You will commence diving on Friday morning.
Dive and Cruise along the Ribbon Reefs, snorkelling with the Dwarf Minke Whales and diving the best of the Ribbon Reefs
Mondays: Disembark Lizard Island: You will transfer onto Lizard Island and to the Lizard Island Airport for your return flight to Cairns. 11.00am arrive at the Hinterland Terminal Cairns and you will be transferred back into your Cairns and to your accommodation

Arrive in Cairns on the day of departure

Thursdays: Disembark Cairns: 8.00am Trinity Wharf Cairns
What to bring on board
Please bring your own personal toiletries, swimmers, light long sleeve top, t-shirts, shorts, suitable shoes to wear on board (can have slippery surfaces), sunhat, sunscreen and sunglasses are a must. If you are not sure of your sea legs, we strongly recommend that you take motion sickness tablets on the trip. Kwells and Travel Calm are suitable to use when diving.
Luggage Restrictions
Due to light aircraft weight restrictions, your total luggage weight is limited to 25 kilograms/ 55 lb per person, plus maximum carry-on of 3kg (5.5lbs) or 10kg (22lbs) allowance for professional photo/video housed systems. Excess baggage storage is available at office.
Flying After Diving
We recommend you give yourself a 24 hour surface interval after your last dive before flying.
Reef Taxes and Levies
There is an additional fee which includes Government Management Charge, as well as a Port Departure Tax and administration costs. Payable direct at the end of the trip.
